Last year I started working on reloading references for the NOE bullet designs, it has gone slower than expected because of the limits of my time but also because I needed to come up with templates that would make the Load Note sheets consistent across all the types of designs and contain as much information as possible for the bullet caster. Al and I think that we have a good format that addresses as many considerations as possible when generating the data so it is time to get started. A quick look at his store’s pages confirms exactly what an undertaking this will be so rather than work from A to Z, I thought I would ask as to what the immediate need of NOE’s customer base is concerning the information to get your bullets out the barrel.

In order to understand how the suggested loads are generated and how the pages are formatted, please read:  Pressure Notes.

Here is what the formatted Load Note pages look like and how the information is presented: 378-275 H&H Mag

If you recommend a bullet design, please include what cartridge you using with the design.

Thank you for trying to find a solution there. That’s disappointing but that’s on me, not on you at all. I had been reading several threads and I thought done my homework here with a design that would cycle and work fine.
I am hoping I can return the mold. Otherwise I really made a mess then.
Please have a great weekend Sir and take care,

        Mike

I thought I would mention this to again show how awesome NOE is.
I sent Al a message and within 30 minutes had a reply stating he would honor my request and exchange the mold for another. Definitely turned my frown upside down.
After browsing some more in the store website, I think I’ve decided on one of your excellent designs Mr. Ranch dog. The TL452-230-rf in the RG version.
I also see that you have already done a load card for it, so I know it’s a good mold for the application.
May I ask, how do you like it for the 45acp in an auto?

Well, I bet my life with that bullet as my primary role for it is self defense.

            TL457235RF_01.jpg

All of my semi-auto designs started life as offerings for the over-dimension barrels of the Taurus semi-autos. It is tough to come up with a new design for a semi-auto, but Taurus offered the opportunity with all of their offerings; starting with their 25 Auto needing a .255″ bullet, and all the way through their 45 Auto needing a .457″ bullet. Here is a composite I made to show what I see from a normal range session with the bullet.

            ragged_hole_composite.jpg

I’ve been trying to use up some old Hercules Unique with this bullet/cartridge combo.

            PT745_Load_03.jpg

The TL452-230-RF came about from an NOE customer’s request that my original design be redrawn for pistols with SAAMI spec barrels.

It does not surprise me that Al was quick to respond and offer the resolution he did as that is why you buy from an outfit like his, service!

Nice looking finished products and also great groups. I think you sold me there. I was still tossing around another mold ( 452-230-hp small hole) but after your post, I think I’m going with this one instead.
Have you ever tried the hollow point version or did you just stay with the flat point only?

Can I have data for the HTC 311 170gn that is in last call group buys? Cartridge is 30-30 and I would like to see some data for H4350 with it if at all possible. Thank you!

I did a quick search but couldn’t find it. I will need a link to the bullet or buy that you are referencing.

Ranch Dog, here is the bullet that he is referencing:

But it would be good to get the official finalized drawings from Swede before punching in the numbers.

If not, make a specific request via a post using the bullet ID profile and cartridge, and it will be added to the list. Custom data; specific powder requests, cartridges not in my database, and bores not within .003″ of the bullet’s design diameter, cannot be provided. Data is generated within the confines of templates; please see any Load Notes as a sample of what can be provided.

H4350 did not make the cut for the data, efficiency is what dropped it as the percent burnt leaving the barrel was 75. The cutoff for the data sheets is 80%. 30.8-grains would provide that Max plain base load. It fills 99% of the usable case. Hopes this helps.

The bullet drawing that Al Nelson sent me was the HTC458-353-RF. Data will be good for all the slight variations of this design.
