::Based on the initial discussion in the thread below, I am looking for interested parties to fill the list for a NOE buy if possible.
100gn.
Plainbase.
No lube groove for powder coating.
RN/spitzer type for feeding in semiautomatic.
Specs outlined, but not finished (true cast bullet drawing and .223/Wylde chamber consideration appreciated).This is a jacketed 100gn that I extrapolated some rough measurements from:

::The depth of the lube groove looks sufficient to me, I’m sure Al can help us out in that point, but how about we put the lube groove on the bullet so that it ends up in the neck when seated?
Number 1 consideration with this design will absolutely be the question of wether the nose is small enough to chamber when coated. I have no experience with this, but I DO know that if it’s too big, it WILL be unusable without having to go the extra operation of nose sizing.

Participant::I took the SAAMI spec for the 223 Remington and crunched the numbers.
I took the max measurements to work with this bullet without violating the spec.
This looks to be the breakdown :0.5000 Protruding from the case
0.2027 Held in the neck
0.2873 Wagging in the caseSo to get the lube groove in the neck we need to push it 0.0813 at minimum.
By my reckoning, anyway.

I just sort of typed while I was looking at the spec.
Bottom line, by my calculations
1 – the taper from 0.223 to 0.226 cannot exceed 0.224 from the tip of the bullet towards the base for 0.185 inches. Maybe cornmastah can work his magic with the TMT software to see if that holds true.
2 – brass thickness at the case neck cannot exceed 0.0135.I’d appreciate a confirmation check by someone if they have the time.
Below are my calculations.

Well, looking at the SAAMI spec, it seems the chamber goes from 0.254 to 0.224 in about 0.027 from the neck of the cartridge.
We’ve got 0.500 protruding, take off 0.027 for the above gap, that leaves 0.473 to account for.
According to our bullet diagram, we’re at 0.223 diameter 0.288 from the tip. That’s going to fit into the 0.224 diameter section. We’re down to 0.185 to account for.
Assuming there is a taper in the bullet from the 0.223 diameter section up to 0.226, it could not exceed 0.224 (probably want less than that, 0.2235 or something) for 0.185 inches. After that it should all be tucked away in the case.
BUT, in the case, the SAAMI spec is assuming a 0.2245, max, bullet width and the neck should not exceed 0.253.
Working with just the spec, we have that the spec allows up to 0.253 – 0.2245 = 0.0285 brass thickness. Since there is brass on both sides, the thickness for the wall cannot exceed 0.01425. That’s spec.For our bullet we can plug in the numbers and get 0.253 – 0.226 = 0.027, halved is 0.0135 brass thickness at the neck.
SOooo, that means that if your brass is 0.013 or less at the neck, then you could use it with this bullet. If not then you have to find some or you’ll be turning necks down to an acceptable thickness.
